Nationals under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme can enter Thailand without a visa for a period of 15 days each time (30 days if you arrive at international airport) via this neighbouring border checkpoint at Koh Lipe from Langkawi, Malaysia.

Effective 06 October 2016 the Ministry of Interior Thailand has issued the Ministerial Announcement designating the Satun Checkpoint at Koh Lipe Marine Port a Visa on Arrival (VOA) Checkpoint .

For extension of stay, visit the nearest Royal Thai Immigration District Office or do a day trip visa run to Langkawi. More info read here.
